Jason,
Tonight, I'm announcing something big — it's my mission for 2024.
I'm teaming up with an unprecedented group of leaders from my past life. These are retired generals, admirals, ambassadors and other people with defense backgrounds — folks who usually avoid partisan politics like it's radioactive.
Together, we've decided to speak out in this moment, because we agree that democracy itself is at stake.
This project is called Operation Saving Democracy, and our mission is singular: Stop Trumpism at the ballot box next November. Today, I want to personally invite you to be part of this: Will you chip in to get this work off to a strong start?
For decades, the Republican Party has cast itself as the party of national security. It's no longer reality, however — now that they're led by a man who cozied up to Putin and inspired an insurrection.
We're all seeing it happen in slow motion. An extreme far-right authoritarian ideology has taken hold of one of our two major parties. They abandon our global allies, weaken our standing on the world stage and our security at home, foster disinformation and conspiracy theories, and normalize violence against ideas they don't like.
They have attacked democracy itself.
And they're not going to stop on their own.
That's why Operation Saving Democracy has assembled an impressive team of high-ranking leaders — people who've dedicated their lives and sacrificed so much for our country, and who like I did, took an oath "to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic."
Trumpism will only be defeated at the ballot box. That's why Operation Saving Democracy plans to reach key voters in swing states next year — to make sure that voices of reason and patriotism break through the nonsense of this election cycle.
I'm asking you to join me in this effort, because I believe we have enormous potential to make a powerful impact and save our democracy. I'd personally be honored to have your donation today to help kickstart Operation Saving Democracy.
Thank you,
Amy
