| Rep. Kevin McCabe introduced a bill that would grant personhood rights to fetuses, allowing doctors who perform abortions and women who receive an abortion to be charged with murder.
This bill criminalizes doctors for providing life-saving reproductive care and threatens the lives of pregnant women across Alaska. Not only that, but this bill would further complicate access to in vitro fertilization (IVF), making it harder for couples struggling with infertility to start a family.
Let's be clear: access to abortion is a fundamental right that is protected by Alaska's constitution, and this bill is a blatant violation of our rights.
