Jason,
A key part of our 2024 strategy hinges on finding the messengers who can persuade the swing voters of this election.
Credibility is the name of the game — people with a long history of partisanship just aren't as effective at conveying the seriousness of the threat Trump poses. That's why we've focused on recruiting retired generals, former ambassadors, and patriots who have spent their whole lives serving our country and rarely taking political sides.
Now, consider that pro-democracy voters represent about 10% of the electorate in most battleground states — if we win these voters over, we win the election.
Our quarterly FEC deadline is coming up fast, and I want to make sure we meet our budget goals so we can run the most aggressive version of this program as we can. Will you make a donation today and help fund this plan to save democracy from Trump?
Typically, messengers like this would rather sign up for elective dental surgery than speak out in a presidential election. But we're quickly finding out that this isn't anything like a typical election — because Donald Trump isn't anything like a typical candidate.
The fascist language and authoritarian ideas he spouts on the campaign trail are truly frightening. It's enough to get a lot of people off the sidelines. Heck, even many of his most trusted allies are abandoning him.
In recent weeks, we've learned that the list of people who refuse to endorse Trump this year includes: his U.N Ambassador, two of his National Security Advisors, two of his Defense Secretaries, his Attorney General, his Secretary of State, his White House Chief of Staff, and — yes, of course — his Vice President who he almost got killed on January 6th.
If the people who have seen Trump up close are convinced he shouldn't ever be president again, we're going to make sure voters hear about it.
I believe so strongly in this plan. If we do our jobs, we will defeat Trump — for good. Will you chip in what you can today and help ensure our program gets the funding it needs to be effective?
Thank you. More soon,
Amy
