| Jason, It's always one step forward and two steps back with Alaska Republicans. FIRST: Gov. Mike Dunleavy vetoed HALF of the $178 million dollars in one-time funding from the current education budget, and Republicans in the State Legislature refused to stand with our public schools and override the veto. THEN: Republicans tried to add amendments to the latest education funding pack that would expand charter schools and provide tuition subsidies for private institutions. NOW: Gov. Dunleavy is threatening to veto the latest education funding package, which passed with overwhelming support in the Alaska Legislature and includes a historic increase to the Base Student Allocation funding formula! While Gov. Dunleavy and his allies have fought us every step of the way, we've never stopped fighting to support our public schools and students struggling with large class sizes and a lack of critical resources. Can we count on you to pitch in anything you can to help us elect Democrats across the state who will fight to give our schools the funding and resources they need to give our students the education they deserve? |
| We can't do this without you. Alaska Dems |
