Jason,
I watched the debate last night, and I'm worried.
Yes, President Biden had an off night. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. But worse, I watched Donald Trump lie his pants off and avoid any shred of accountability for his anti-democratic behavior.
We have our work cut out for us if we want to win this election.
Let's zoom in on one particular moment. When asked directly, Trump refused to say he'd accept the results of this election. Then the moderators gave him a second chance, and he again changed the subject. And when he got a third chance to answer the question, he went into a litany on why he never lost the 2020 election to begin with.
That right there is all pro-democracy voters need to see. The data shows that when they see this kind of undemocratic behavior from Trump, they abandon him. Our job is to make sure they see it (over and over again).
Right now, we have a rare opportunity to supercharge our budget. A generous supporter has agreed to increase by 33% everything we raise before our FEC deadline this weekend—can I ask you to chip in today?
I'm honestly a little ticked off.
I'm angry that Donald Trump was allowed to tell the American people that January 6th was Nancy Pelosi's fault. That he was allowed to pretend he never called soldiers who died overseas "suckers" and "losers." And that he could spew Putin's talking points while hinting that he might leave our allies behind if they're attacked.
It's all infuriating.
And if people like me and you don't do anything about it, we're on a crash course with another 2016 election — in which he was allowed to skate by on things we would never let any other public official get away with.
Our mission is simple: Deliver the facts and show the stakes of this election to as many pro-democracy voters in battleground states as we can before Election Day. Today, your donation goes even farther toward that cause — will you chip in?
Thank you,
Amy
