| Congresswoman Nikema Williams is a leader who lives out loud and on purpose fighting for the promise of America. She will continue to fight for the dignity and opportunity for all of Georgia's Fifth Congressional District. If you'd like to receive fewer emails, let us know here. |
 | Jason, Ten years ago today, June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court affirmed what so many of us already knew: love is love — and marriage equality is a constitutional right. On that same day, Congresswoman Nikema and her husband Leslie were finally, legally married. Yes, that's five years AFTER they committed their lives to one another before their friends, family, and God on June 5, 2010. Why wait five years to file the paperwork? Nikema and Leslie felt until the government recognized all marriages, they didn't want it involved in theirs. As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of this national milestone, will you chip in $10 to help Congresswoman Nikema keep fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and equality? Today, we're reminded how far we've come and how much further we must go to defend that hard-won progress. At a time when LGBTQ+ rights are under attack across the country, with extremists trying to roll back protections and silence queer voices, we need leaders like Nikema fighting back in Congress. But she can't do this alone. Stand with Congresswoman Nikema and contribute $10 to continue defending marriage equality and the LGBTQ+ community. — Team Nikema | | |
