| Hi Jason, This past weekend, I joined Congressman Lou Correa at his naturalization fair, helping California residents take the next step toward becoming American citizens. It was inspiring to meet families who have built their lives here, yet face an immigration system that has never been more complicated. Becoming a citizen is getting harder than ever: - Applicants must now affirmatively prove their good moral character rather than it being presumed if they don't have a criminal history.
- The civics test has expanded from 100 questions to 128, featuring more difficult content.
- At the interview, applicants are asked 20 questions and must get 12 right to pass.
These changes make it significantly more difficult for individuals to obtain citizenship and secure their rightful representation in Congress. People struggling to navigate the naturalization process is something I see far too often. That's why I'm running for Congress in CA-40. I will work to streamline and make the naturalization process fairer, so that every qualifying resident can earn their citizenship without unnecessary barriers. Our district deserves a leader who will stand up for immigrant communities and create fair pathways to citizenship. Will you contribute today to help power a campaign that fights for justice and opportunity for every family? |
| Thank you for standing with us, Lisa Ramirez |
