To be honest, asking for money is my least favorite part of campaigning. And yet, talking to voters across CA-40 I am told over and over again: "the system", "the government", "the economy" . . . isn't working for them. It's these conversations that remind me why this work is so important and how every dollar raised is an investment in our future! We know money talks, and without it, we can't get our message out and build the movement it will require to transform politics in this country.
And while many Washington politicians will put special interests and corporate PACs over the people they represent, I'm running for Congress to represent YOU.
Our country has gone through massive changes over the past year alone, and although we may not be able to control what's happening, we 100% have the power to choose how we respond. For me, I see this time as an opportunity - an opportunity to stand up, lead by example and create a movement where we give up being fearful, resigned or comfortable and BE COURAGEOUS.
That's my invitation to each and every one of you and what this campaign is about: it's a movement of courage, determination and resilience that extends far beyond this election, where we take back our power and use it to the fullest extent possible for the good of ALL.
It's about creating a government that's truly by and for the PEOPLE.
