Across the country, ICE is acting with sweeping power and little accountability, tearing communities apart and murdering peaceful protestors.
I've seen what that looks like up close.
As an immigration attorney, I stood up to ICE when they unlawfully detained Narciso Barranco, a father of three U.S. Marines. We fought back and we won. Narciso is home with his family today because we refused to stay silent.
And just last week, over the objection of the ICE trial attorney, Narciso's case was dismissed.
That victory proved something important: when we stand together and don't give up, we win. But I know one case alone doesn't fix a system that's more focused on producing terror than justice.
That's why I'm running for Congress.
We need leaders who are courageous enough to speak up to abusers of power, work tirelessly to protect families, and hold federal agencies accountable. And to do that, we need the resources to win in one of the most competitive districts in the country.
