We just changed what’s possible in Maine.

Jason,

Last night was a major victory for Maine’s gun safety movement – and it was all because of people like you.

Endorsed Gun Safety Champion Hannah Pingree won the governor’s race by a nearly 20 point margin. Chellie Pingree was re-elected to Congress in the 1st District. And gun safety champion Troy Jackson flipped Maine’s U.S. Senate seat to finally oust gun lobby-backed Susan Collins.

More importantly, MORE THAN 65 of our endorsed candidates have already declared victory.

Every single one of the candidates we’ve highlighted for you over the last few months won last night – including Bob Kelly, Shanna Cox, Scott Harriman, Michele Meyer, Dan Sayre, and Dana Staples.

Everywhere we invested with the political program you funded, candidates won, including in HD 88 where Dana Staples defeated incumbent Quentin Chapman, who had led the effort to try and repeal Extreme Risk Protection Orders after we passed them last November.

All of these victories are because of people like you who volunteered to help get out the vote, who donated to support our communication and persuasion programs, and who cast their ballot in support of gun safety.

But winning elections is just the first step. Now we begin strategizing how to pass our top priorities: secure storage to protect kids and prevent suicide, lost and stolen firearms reporting to help prevent street crime, and straw purchase regulations to crack down on the illegal gun trade.

We have a stronger gun safety caucus in Augusta now because of you. Turning these wins into passing life-saving laws is next. Would you join us in our second phase of our election day work with a donation to fund our legislative priorities right now?

Thank you so much for all that you do.
