| Hello Jason, it’s George Takei.
With in-person Early Voting starting on Monday, Georgia Democrats are moving at maximum warp to Get Out the Vote in this critical runoff election!
That’s why I’m reaching out to personally invite you to “Star Trek: The Next Election,” an exciting virtual event TOMORROW to support Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock’s Senate campaigns.
I’ll be joining forces with 18 icons from five different Star Trek casts, plus one of our favorite Trekkies, Stacey Abrams, on Saturday at 6:00 PM ET. Jason, chip in any amount to reserve your spot right now >> What: “Star Trek: The Next Election” When: Saturday, December 12 at 6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT Where: Live on Zoom Who: The cast of Star Trek, Stacey Abrams, and YOU As my father told me years after our family was released from internment during World War II, a democracy depends on those who believe in its highest, shining ideals.
It’s for that reason that I’ve been involved in politics my entire adult life. I believe in the power of our democracy to change the future, but it is incumbent upon each individual to participate.
Right now, we have an opportunity to elect two Senators who believe in those ideals, too. If we want a chance to build a future that works for everyone, we must elect Jon and Raphael and win back control of the Senate.
That’s why I’m hosting this “Star Trek: The Next Election” grassroots event with Stacey Abrams, LeVar Burton, Kate Mulgrew, Jeri Ryan, and many more friends and cast members.
We’ll be coming together (virtually!) to discuss what’s at stake, learn about what we all can do to help, and banter a bit about Star Trek, of course.
With the election less than four weeks away, and in-Person Early Voting starting Monday, I’m committed to doing everything I can to help Jon and Raphael win -- and I hope you are, too.
So, can I count on seeing you tomorrow at 6:00 PM ET? Donate any amount right now to RSVP and get all the event details. Thank you for being part of our democracy.
Live long and prosper,
George Takei |
