Jason––the U.S. Senate passed my bill to reduce violence and civil rights abuses in America's prisons.
Here's why this is so important:
A major issue: the camera systems in necessary to investigate violence and abuse in prisons are often broken — and footage is frequently "lost."
Remember Jeffrey Epstein? There are countless cases of prison violence, abuse, crime, or a suspicious death never solved because the cameras are broken.
So I wrote a bill to fix that. I built a bipartisan coalition. And I passed the bill — even in this 50-50 Senate.
My bill requires the Bureau of Prisons to fix its broken camera systems.
This is just one bill — part of a broader prison reform agenda.
But Jason, this bill will make a real difference in reducing violence and crime and civil rights abuses in America.
And it was bipartisan.
I refuse to accept we can't still get things done.
I refuse to accept endless partisan gridlock and BS.
I'm here to work hard and deliver results. And I am delivering.
So keep the faith. The future is bright. I've got your back. Thanks for having mine.
More updates soon.
