Jason, since you use ActBlue, I wanted to make sure you saw the growth of this small-dollar donor movement reflected in our Q3 numbers. I hope you read the blog for more movement milestones and share with your friends and family, but here are the highlights: Small-Dollar Strength Sustains MovementsIn the past quarter, 2 million donors gave over 8.6 million contributions to 12,676 groups on ActBlue, totalling more than $305 million! That means the number of donors, contributions, and groups on ActBlue more than doubled compared to the previous midterm cycle mark in Q3 2017. Grassroots donors are showing an unparalleled commitment to change. Every day we’re inspired by the number of people joining this movement across the country. In the Sun Belt and the South especially, more and more people are giving to support candidates and causes locally and nationally. You can see the blue wave gaining momentum: Vital midterm supportDonors like you aren’t waiting for the next presidential election: You’re propelling this grassroots movement forward. The number of donors to congressional races almost doubled and contributions almost tripled compared to Q3 2017. House and Senate candidates raised more than double the amount of money from grassroots donors. In the buildup to state and local elections this year and in 2022, small-dollar donors organized to support candidates working for them. Compared to Q3 2017, the number of donors to state legislative races doubled, contributions increased 83%, and dollars raised almost tripled on ActBlue. Organizing for urgent reliefWe also saw a wave of support for nonprofits working for urgent relief and protection within a range of pressing issues. Over half a million people contributed to nonprofits via ActBlue or AB Charities in Q3, and 21.6% were giving to a nonprofit via our platform for the first time. The dedication of donors like you makes this grassroots movement’s growth and stamina possible. There is a common assumption that people only care about presidential elections, and time and time again small-dollar donors like you debunk that myth. Thank you for your time, attention, and support! We can’t wait to see what the next quarter will bring. Sincerely, |
