Jason —
One week from today, political candidates, committees, and organizations face the Federal Election Commission's quarterly reporting deadline — meaning that when the books close at midnight on June 30th, they'll be required to submit a report of every donation they've received over the past three months.
For The American SOS Project, this will be our first FEC deadline, the first public measure of our progress toward our goal of stopping Donald Trump's plot to steal the next election. Will you make a donation right now to kick off the final week of fundraising before this deadline?
Let me take a minute to tell you exactly why this deadline matters so much — because believe me, I know that it can feel like your inbox is being flooded with request after request without any explanation of why you should pitch in your hard-earned money.
First and foremost, these FEC fundraising reports don't just get filed away — they're made public, which means we've got a huge opportunity coming up very soon to show off the strength of this organization.
A lot of folks look at the reports that get filed, from journalists covering elections to campaign staff to interested members of the public.
And I can guarantee you this: Someone over in Trump's circle is going to be looking very carefully at the publicly available information showing potential roadblocks to their plans. The numbers they'll see will paint a picture: whether we're going to be a pushover and let Trump scheme his way back into the White House, or whether there's enough energy on our side to step up and fight back.
I, for one, insist on fighting back.
If you're with me — and I'm betting you are, because this team doesn't shy away from a challenge — I'm asking you to chip in to The American SOS Project before next week's crucial FEC deadline.
We've got a chance to show the whole country — including Trump and his stooges — that this organization has teeth. Let's go.
Thank you — more to come.
Amy
