We can't cut our way to becoming a world-class city. We should invest in our communities so that our seniors, students, and poor have the resources they need.
Jason,
We have some bad news:
Eric Adams has proposed more cuts, this time to seniors. The city is considering cutting $28 million from the Department of the Aging. These cuts could cause dozens of senior centers to close and would devastate senior meal programs.
This comes after Adams announced cuts to libraries, parks, and the emergency food program.
We can't cut our way to becoming a world-class city. We should invest in our communities so that all New Yorkers have the resources they need.
