Thank you for your commitment to expanding access to affordable healthcare for Floridians. We know that for many, this election season has brought frustration and disappointment. It's understandable to feel discouraged. But in the face of challenges, we found promising signs of progress here in Florida that can set the stage for a successful Medicaid expansion initiative in 2026.
While neither of the citizen initiatives on this year's ballot reached the 60% threshold needed for passage, both earned the support of a majority of Floridians. Amendment 4, in particular, came within just 3% of victory. These results show that, even with recent changes designed to make the process harder, citizens' initiatives can succeed. With 76% of Floridians in favor of expanding Medicaid, we have a clear path forward if we work together.
Let's build on this support now to bring Medicaid expansion to the ballot.
