The closing arguments

Jason,

Imagine you're a voter who's on the fence. (I know that's a stretch.) Let's look at the closing arguments you're hearing from the campaigns.

One candidate is focused on which of his fellow Americans are "the enemy from within" he wants to use the military against. He's publicly trying to distance himself from (literal) Hitler while his campaign holds a hate-filled event at Madison Square Garden designed to echo an infamous Nazi rally. He's out there talking about how Democrats are already "cheating" while his surrogates are out admitting their economic plans would cause "temporary hardship" for most of the country. And every day, he's telling voters that America is a "garbage can."

The other candidate is holding rallies centered on freedom and "U-S-A" chants. She goes out of her way to make sure voters know she'll be a president to all Americans — no matter where you live or who you vote for. She talks about real, innovative economic ideas to help Americans manage the cost of living while going after companies that price-gouge. To my knowledge, she's never had to tell voters she's not a Nazi.

Needless to say, the vibes couldn't be more different. Usually you can tell a lot about how a campaign is going based on what they're saying in the final days. With Trump, it's hard to tell — he's chaos incarnate. But I know if I was on the fence in this election, only one path forward feels stable and optimistic. Only one side represents an opportunity to turn the page and move on from this ugly era of division.

The best thing we can do with the hours we have left is talk to as many voters as we can in battleground states. Here are two ways to help, no matter where you live.

  1. If you have a free hour or two, make some calls using the Harris campaign's call tool.

  2. If you don't have time to do that, trust me, I get it. Consider chipping in to fund our outreach to pro-democracy voters in the home stretch — these are the voters who I believe will decide this election.
Thank you. More soon,

Amy
