We need a fighter now more than ever

I'll be honest folks, this is a difficult time. We're all disappointed and tired — to say the least.

In the days and weeks ahead, we're going to hear more about what Donald Trump has in store for us, but we already know the basics. He wants to ban abortion, rip away our healthcare, and put climate change on the back burner.

That's the bad news. Here's the good news: These are challenges we can take on right here in New York City. But to do it, our city needs a fighter now more than ever before.

I've already faced the challenge of defending NYC under Trump, and I know how to get the job done.

I was NYC Comptroller throughout Trump's entire presidency.

When he undermined the fight to stop climate change, we sued the five largest fossil fuel producers for their impact on climate change and our city.

When Trump did nothing to stop the school shootings, we demanded gun retailers like Walmart restrict their firearms sales — and got it done.

I know it feels hard but we need to fight every day for our city. We've done it before and I'm ready to do it again as Mayor.

If you're tapped out right now, that's ok. But if you are ready and able to, please pitch in to fight for the future of our city.

The fight continues,

Scott
