He's attacked a Gold Star family. He equated a Medal of Freedom given to one of his wealthy donors to the Medal of Honor, our nation's highest military decoration. He's used Arlington Cemetery for a campaign photo op. He called fallen soldiers "losers" and "suckers." And he said John McCain, who spent over 5 years in a Vietnamese prison camp, wasn't a war hero because, as he put it, "I like people who weren't captured." It's almost like it's Donald Trump's second nature to have contempt for our men and women in uniform. Perhaps it's because he's spent his whole life thinking military service was beneath him. All I know is hundreds of former military leaders are endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump. These are people who usually go out of their way to avoid electoral politics, but they've seen firsthand the threat Trump poses to our democracy and national security.
