Donald Trump is pushing a plan to gut FEMA entirely, forcing states to take on 75% of disaster costs with little federal support. This is just one part of Project 2025, the dangerous blueprint of Trump's agenda. This move would leave states, especially smaller or lower-income ones, without the resources they need to recover from natural disasters. To boot, natural disasters in the U.S. have become more frequent in recent years due to climate change spurred on by corporate & government greed. Cutting FEMA would put millions of lives on the line. Disasters don't stop at state borders. We need a strong FEMA, not a dismantled one.
