Jason, Right now, our country is at a defining moment. The Trump Administration is pushing extreme policies that target the most vulnerable among us—but Emerge alums are refusing to back down! At a time when trans people are facing significant barriers to accessing care, Trump has signed a flurry of executive orders limiting access to life-saving, gender-affirming care. Not only that, but the Health and Human Services Department is attempting to remove gender-affirming care from the list of essential services covered under the Affordable Care Act, putting lives at risk. Rep. Becca Balint–the first openly gay lawmaker to represent Vermont in Congress–introduced the Transgender Health Care Access Act, which would direct the Health and Human Services Department to develop, implement, and train providers in gender-affirming care. We know that representation in government matters, and this is just one example of how Emerge alums in elected office are standing strong. That's why we're ramping up our training and recruiting the next class of Emerge women to step up, run for office, and join the fight across the country! Your support today will help us train even more women to win elections and secure representation for the New American Majority to ensure that our voices are heard and our communities are protected. Will you make a contribution today to help us build a government that truly reflects the people it serves? |
Let's do this! Sandra Bishop Chief Development Officer, Emerge |
