Across Michigan, kids are heading back into the classroom this week. For many, that means new school supplies that add up quickly.
But this year, those costs are hitting harder than ever. Families are already stretched thin, and instead of making education more affordable, Donald Trump dismantled critical investments in public schools and signed legislation that siphons billions away from classrooms while slashing student loan relief.
As the son of a former public school teacher and as a graduate from public high school right here in Oakland County, this is infuriating. Every student deserves the chance to learn in a fully funded classroom.
While Trump and Republicans make it harder, I'm fighting to protect our schools, invest in our kids, and make life more affordable for Michigan families.
