Jason, President Trump tapped Markwayne Mullin to replace Kristi Noem following her disastrous tenure as head of the Department of Homeland Security. Let me be clear: this is not progress. It's more of the same recklessness that has already cost lives, violated people's rights, and eroded trust. FIGHT BACK Under Kristi Noem, DHS oversaw unlawful immigration enforcement tactics that led to the deaths of U.S. citizens and fueled fear in communities nationwide. Now her would-be replacement, Markwayne Mullin, has echoed the same dangerous rhetoric. After Alex Pretti, an American citizen and ICU nurse for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, was gunned down in Minneapolis, Markwayne Mullin called him a "deranged individual". He spread Kristi Noem's lie that Alex Pretti was at the protest that day to spread "max damage". This is disqualifying. This is not leadership. This is not a moment in our history for silence. Every elected leader at every level of government must stand up to this cruel administration to protect the American people.
