People sometimes ask why I'm so passionate about the things I care about.
Why do I show up when others won't? Why do I refuse to let hateful rhetoric slide? Why do I speak out when accountability is missing?
The answer is simple. Silence has consequences.
I grew up here in Oakland County. I built my life here. I serve because Michigan deserves leaders who do not shrink when things get uncomfortable.
When homophobic lies were spread in our state, I stood up because it was right. When Trump and MAGA spread conspiracies about our elections, I made voting more accessible. When I saw that transparency and accountability for ICE was necessary, I demanded it because that is what leadership requires.
I do not fight because I enjoy conflict. I fight because I care about the people of this state – families trying to get by, young people wondering about their future, and neighbors who deserve dignity and fairness.
Michigan has grit. We don't back down from bullies, and we don't stay quiet when something is wrong.
