| Hi Jason,
I’m Jon’s Communications Director, so I can tell you how it looks when a candidate refuses to debate: It makes them look scared and pathetic.
During their last debate, David Perdue looked completely flustered while Jon was calling him a crook for trying to profit off the pandemic and take away his constituents’ health care.
I’m sure you’ve seen the video by now, Jason. It was a really bad look for Senator Perdue -- but not as bad as not showing up to debate entirely.
Perdue has refused to agree to another debate with Jon!! With control of the Senate on the line!!
Jon is still attending the debate this afternoon. That’s what real leaders do. They show up. So Jason, will you make a donation before today’s “debate” to show Jon you have his back? | If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: | | | Jason, I’ve never witnessed this level of entitlement in my entire career in politics.
Perdue simply doesn’t feel he is accountable to the people he’s supposed to represent. He can’t be bothered to show up to debate in a public forum to make his case for why he should be re-elected.
He’s not just spineless, though; he’s a coward. He pretends to be a tough guy in his ads, but he’s terrified of standing on stage next to Jon.
In their last debate in October, Jon made it clear that David Perdue has utterly failed in this public health and economic crisis, and is *still* trying to take away our health care. (During the debate, Perdue was actually bragging repeatedly about voting against the Affordable Care Act!!)
Then, *the very next day*, Perdue canceled their previously-scheduled third general election debate, and now he’s refusing to debate Jon at all.
Jon already accepted a full menu of debates this month and offered Perdue to take his pick to agree to any or all of them. Jon is ready to debate Perdue any time.
Georgia voters deserve a comprehensive chance to hear the two Senate candidates debate the issues that matter to them before this critical runoff election.
By not debating, Perdue is only reinforcing the fact that he isn’t interested in representing the people of Georgia as Senator. He wants to remain in the Senate to continue trying to enrich himself and make his rich corporate lobbyist friends even richer.
We can stop him, Jason: Chip in right now to defeat David Perdue and elect Jon Ossoff >> | If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: | | | Thank you for standing up for what’s right,
Miryam Lipper Communications Director Jon Ossoff for U.S. Senate |
