Groundwork Project 🤝 Dirt Road PAC

Many of the most destructive policies and court decisions have come out of the states our organizations are invested in.

Dirt Road PAC

Hi Jason —

Joe Kennedy here, founder of Groundwork Project. I'm fired up to announce our partnership with Clay and the Dirt Road PAC team — to put our organizing power together, take the fight to Republicans, and build the base of our party from the ground up.

That's something our friend Jaime Harrison understood needed to happen when he started Dirt Road PAC. Well, you'll see right away why Dirt Road and Groundwork are the perfect match:

Groundwork Project is putting resources into hyperlocal community organizing in the places Democrats too often overlook. In Alabama, Mississippi, West Virginia, and Oklahoma, we're investing in organizers and community leaders who know what it takes to build coalitions and stop the most destructive conservative policies at their source. And we're planning to expand even more in the years ahead.

But here's the deal, Jason: We depend on grassroots support from folks like you to build local power in so-called "red" states, from the Deep South to the Plains and Appalachia — just like Dirt Road PAC.

So I'm humbly asking: Will you pitch in a few bucks between Groundwork Project and Dirt Road PAC to help us invest in the grassroots organizing that the future of the Democratic Party depends on?

Many of the most destructive policies and court decisions have come out of the states our organizations are invested in.

The Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade came out of a Mississippi court case.

The right-wing Supreme Court majority ruled to gut EPA emission standards due to a case in West Virginia.

Shelby County, Alabama put the Voting Rights Act before SCOTUS, allowing the Roberts Court to tear down one of the greatest civil rights achievements of the last century.

Oklahoma pushed to claw back authority from Native American leaders on their own tribal land in a court case SCOTUS just ruled in the state's favor.

The common thread: Conservatives have spent decades investing locally to build power, but their power isn't absolute.

That's why, in my view, Groundwork Project and Dirt Road PAC's work is so essential. We understand that the true battle isn't about one candidate or one election; it's about the survival of our civil rights, our truest ideals, and our democracy itself.

The real fight is in state legislatures and courts that conservatives have controlled to get their anti-civil rights, anti-democratic policies enacted no matter who controls the White House or Congress.

Ensuring that Groundwork Project and Dirt Road PAC have the resources to invest in authentic, local community organizing is more important than ever with recent SCOTUS decisions putting abortion, climate action, and our democracy at risk.

So we have an ambitious goal: Investing over $2 million in multi-year funds to organizers by the end of this year. And we can't reach this goal without your help.

Jason, will you split $15 between Groundwork Project and Dirt Road PAC today so we can continue to organize and defend our rights especially where they face the greatest threat?

The only way we will succeed is together. So it's not about how much you're able to give — it's about getting as many grassroots Democrats as possible to believe in our mission, and support us with what you can.

Thanks, and take care,

Joe
