| This story has already gotten buried in the news, but it's a big one, Jason: Retired Four-Star General Larry Ellis has endorsed Kamala Harris for president. It's hard to overstate how big a deal this is. For one, four-star generals are already very rare. But it's nearly unheard of to see one wade into electoral issues — people like this are usually 100% apolitical. That's how much of a clear danger Trump poses to our country. This is the kind of news we need every pro-democracy voter to see. Our data shows that these are the voices that resonate with this audience, many of whom come from military families themselves. These are the voters who will determine the outcome of this election — what we raise before our budget deadline tomorrow will decide how aggressive we can be in reaching them in battleground states. Can you rush in a donation before our deadline? Meanwhile, Trump has been in the headlines for his disastrous treatment of veterans. Last week, Trump claimed that the Presidential Medal of Freedom he gave to a billionaire donor was "equivalent" and even "much better" than the Medal of Honor given to our nation's heroes for their actions in battle. The other day, Trump's campaign barged their way in to do a photo op at Arlington National Cemetery, where he stood at the gravesite of a fallen U.S. Marine and gave a thumbs-up. Who does that? Trump does, that's who. This is the guy who called fallen Marines and soldiers "losers" and suckers" — who disparaged John McCain's service. It's clear what he thinks of our service members, and it's on us to make sure that this record of disrespect doesn't get lost in the shuffle. We can reach the undecided pro-democracy voters who are deeply worried about Trump and his anti-democratic tendencies. But that's going to take resources if we're going to reach them.
