Through a bad-faith interpretation of Article II of the Constitution, Trump could abuse his authority and force Congress to adjourn — so he could "recess-appoint" his Cabinet without obstruction. This is dangerous — Trump is reportedly planning to circumvent our democracy's fundamental safeguards. Trump is demanding that the Senate forgo its constitutional duty to vet and confirm his nominees for crucial government positions -- including Secretary of State, Defense, Education, and more.
