Being a single parent isn't easy. I wake up most days at 5 a.m. and work until late at night. The high cost of childcare is like paying a second mortgage, as many parents are on waitlists for far too long to gain access to high-quality care. There are not enough places to take toddlers in the evenings to interact with other children, and I often find myself at indoor playgrounds at fast-food restaurants.
While it is not the status quo to be a single parent and run for statewide office, I'm in this race because of the real-life experiences of people who deserve to have solutions come to fruition. Access to democracy shouldn't be so expensive. Please donate what you can today so I may continue communicating with voters and potential donors. Or sign up to volunteer. We're getting out to knock on doors! Let me know if there's a neighborhood in your area that we should visit soon. Together, we can ensure there is a new path forward. Sincerely, Crisanta Duran |
