I'll be honest with you. I never planned to run for Governor.
New Mexico has been my home for nearly my entire life. I went to law school here, built businesses here, and my wife Jackie and I chose to raise our three children here. I've experienced the very best of what this state has to offer - from our rich culture to the resilience and warmth of our people.
Throughout my career, I've stood up for everyday New Mexicans - whether that meant taking on the powerful or, now, serving as District Attorney of the largest county in our state. Where my focus has been holding violent criminals accountable and working every day to make our communities safer for everyone
But I looked around and saw what was happening in New Mexico: our communities were getting left behind by Washington do-nothing politicians.
Donald Trump, his billionaire buddy Elon Musk, and the MAGA extremists in Washington are trying to gut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid — all while attacking our public schools, healthcare, and the values we hold dear.
I couldn't sit on the sidelines. Not while our schools, our safety, our health care, and our basic rights are on the line. |
| That's why I'm running for Governor — to fight back against the chaos, protect New Mexicans, and get things done for our communities.
I'm ready to work my ass off every day, take on the tough problems, and stand up for our families, our kids, and our future.
