| Jason, I have to tell you, I haven't always been happy with the Democratic Party. As the Republican Party refused to even call a vote for over a month to extend healthcare tax credits, Democratic Senate leaders gave up their leverage and caved on the shutdown. Now, millions of Americans will pay the price in January with higher healthcare costs. Enough is enough. We can't afford any more broken promises from Washington. I believe that there's a new path forward. This moment is our chance to take matters into our own hands and create a government that works for us - that puts our interests first. It's our chance to reject a future that's dictated by billionaires and instead forge our own path forward. That's why I'm running. Working people are frustrated with our government's failure to advocate for affordable healthcare and policies that see the dignity in every person – and I'm right there with them. And I know that right now is our moment to stand for a future that does not yet exist. A future where our leaders are bold to stand up against the corporate and special interests and introduce legislation that will protect the basic needs for people to live, work and be safe. A future where leaders are not afraid to take a stand and do the right thing, especially when it goes against the interests of corporations that spend billions on lobbyists to give their CEOs tax breaks and promote monopolies that keep prices high. A future where leaders will advocate to increase the minimum wage and ensure bargaining rights are protected. A future that ensures when corporations do well, their workers do too. A future where the American economy works for everyone. If you believe in my vision, I hope you'll join our movement and help me hit my November goal (which is especially critical as it's our very first deadline in our new district!).
