We just made history — Yes on 2 has passed.
Maine voters have taken the safety of our communities into our own hands by passing common-sense, responsible gun legislation that will save lives and help keep our kids and families safe, not just from the horrors of a tragedy like Lewiston, but also from the devastating impacts of everyday gun violence.
As a mom, I think about what this means for every parent who has ever worried about their child's safety. As an advocate, I think about every family that begged for help and didn't have the tools to intervene. And as a Mainer, I think about the courage it took for all of us to come together and demand change.
This victory belongs to every volunteer who knocked on doors, every supporter who chipped in, and every person who refused to give up. Together, we turned heartbreak into hope.
Because of you, families across Maine will have a way to protect their loved ones when it matters most. Because of you, lives will be saved.
