Hi Jason, On Monday, I sat down with an incredible group of Georgia women at our maternal healthcare roundtable to talk honestly about something that should never be controversial: keeping women safe.
Georgia's maternal mortality crisis is one of the worst in the country. That is unacceptable. And I refuse to stand by while families suffer, providers are ignored, and politicians look the other way. That's why I officially launched my maternal health agenda this week. It's a plan rooted in one simple belief: Georgia women deserve to give birth and raise their families knowing they are safe, supported, and respected.
My agenda will save lives by repealing Georgia's dangerous abortion ban, expanding access to quality maternal care, and investing in the doctors, nurses, and providers who care for women every day. As the husband of a nurse practitioner and the dad of two kids, this fight is deeply personal to me. I've never wavered in my support for reproductive healthcare, and as governor, I won't hesitate to act. This is a fight I will take to the governor's office on day one.
Georgia should be a place where starting a family does not come with fear. Where women are listened to. Where providers are trusted. And where leaders choose care over politics. If you can, please chip in $5 today to help us keep building a Georgia where every woman is safe and supported. That's the future we're fighting for. And I'm grateful to every woman who showed up this week to help lead the way. With determination, Jason Esteves
