BREAKING: I’m working to force gun control legislation to a vote

I'm proud to be leading the movement to end gun violence in Congress.

I'm leading an effort with other House Democrats to gather signatures for discharge petitions that would force a vote in the House on three different gun control bills. Jason, this doesn't happen often. We're working on these discharge petitions because our nation is in crisis. I've pushed for gun safety reform since my son Jordan was shot and killed in 2012. Our policies on guns failed my son and the many, many others that become victims of shootings every year – and we're on pace for a record number of mass shootings in 2023. Jason, I've had enough. My GOP colleagues have blocked all of our attempts to enact common-sense laws that would curb the epidemic of gun violence, so it's time to force their hand. I'm proud to be leading the movement to end gun violence in Congress – and it's made me the target of far-right Republicans. These measures will save lives and make our communities safer. Their thoughts and prayers are meaningless without substantive action.
