Jason —
Donald Trump swears up and down that he had every right to keep highly classified documents in a bathroom at the Mar-a-Lago Club.
Well, here's what Mark Esper, who served as his Defense Secretary, had to say about it:
"...clearly, it was unauthorized, illegal and dangerous… It's just irresponsible action that places our service members at risk, places our nation's security at risk."
Esper went as far as saying that, if these actions are proven in court, Trump simply can't be trusted with our nation's secrets again.
The stakes in the next election were already sky high. We were already tasked with saving our democracy from people who tried to incite a coup. Now, Trump's Defense Secretary is telling the nation that his old boss is an open threat to national security. And the courts aren't likely to move fast enough to resolve this before the next election.
We're building a team eager to prosecute the case against Trump directly to voters, and I need your help. Our FEC deadline this month is a test of how strong we can build this operation — chip in today and let's make sure voters know the threat Trump poses.
Thank you,
Amy
