Jason — Trump is bragging about it on the campaign trail. His advisers are openly discussing the havoc they want to wreck with a second term. Their plans are even on his website.
Now, the New York Times is sounding the alarm: |
They're talking about prosecuting political enemies, stripping away agencies' independence from political pressure, and forcing the courts and Congress to try to stop him — essentially the exact playbook to install a dictator in the White House. Jason, I'm not trying to add stress to your day. (Lord knows none of us need that.) But news reports like this are a warning flare. They want us to know: If we don't do everything in our power to stop Trump and his allies, they'll break the law to make sure no one can ever stop him again. We can't just rely on the courts or criminal charges catching up with Trump in time. We can't hope the traditional power brokers in Washington enforce their "norms" to rein him in. And we certainly can't pull all our hopes in one political campaign getting everything right.
Against Trump and his MAGA allies, we need all hands on deck. We need everyone doing their part.
We're working on assembling a powerful team to oppose Trump at every turn in this campaign, and I'm asking you to be part of it: Will you make a donation right now and help build an operation that can do damage against Trump? Thank you, Amy
