Something big happened at a recent Harris-Walz rally in Arizona. Mesa's Republican mayor, John Giles, endorsed the Democratic ticket, pointing to late Republican Sen. John McCain and his "country first" approach. Giles said: "I call on other Arizona Republicans to join me in choosing country over party this election and to vote against Donald Trump."
And just last week, over 70,000 self-describing GOPers joined a Zoom call billed as "Republicans for Harris."
These folks put aside policy differences because they see what's really at stake in this election: Trump is a danger to our democracy.
These are the kinds of voices we need to put in front of our target audience for the next 75 days. Defeating Trump, Vance, and Project 2025 will take Americans from both sides (and in the middle) coming together to save our democracy. There are millions of these voters in battleground states who need to hear from the right messengers. They need to see people like them deciding to reject Trump for good.
We have our mission. Now, we need to execute it.
