America is about to be introduced to Tim Walz, vice presidential candidate. The former teacher who made school lunches free for all Minnesota children. The veteran who helped students start a Gay-Straight Alliance in 1999 because he knew having the football coach and soldier as faculty advisor would help stop bullying. The governor who protected reproductive rights and took on the NRA.
But I want to introduce you to Tim Walz, my friend. The man who will get on his knees to tie your child's shoe when she asks for help, put syrup on her pancakes and cut them into bite-sized pieces, and always greet her with an enthusiastic "How ya doing', sister?!"
