We wanted to take a moment to update you on the latest news in our campaign for Congress in KS-02!
We have a real opportunity to elect Don and unseat Derek Schmidt in November. Derek Schmidt has been running for various elective offices since the year 2000 and served two terms as Attorney General under Sam Brownback. Prior to his consolation prize as Congressman, he lost the 2022 race for Kansas Governor. He also lost this district's vote, proving that KS-02 is flippable and within our reach.
Don isn't your typical candidate — he's a livestock veterinarian, West Point graduate, and Army veteran who's tired of status quo politics. Most times, candidates for this race don't come from one of the rural areas. But Don was born, raised, and still lives in the farming and ranching community in Southeast Kansas.
Thousands of people across Kansas agree that Don is the candidate who can win this race. Don has received contributions from all 27 counties that make up the 2nd District and from 85 of Kansas' 105 counties overall. Don has been traveling and meeting with people in their homes, ranches, offices, union halls, restaurants, and community centers across the district. Folks are excited about the prospect of new leadership. They know Don will stand up for what's right and not back down to bullies.
We need your support to flip KS-02. Don's taking on a career politician, who will have the backing of the MAGA machine. We're building a campaign for working families in Kansas that, like Don, know this is the year we vote out Derek Schmidt. But we can only make it happen with the early, continued support of our grassroots team.
