After the Supreme Court's decision to strike Trump's tariffs down, Mike Lawler went on CNN to play both sides of the debate.
He talked about checks and balances. He said he never supported tariffs long-term. He assured voters he's not a pushover.
But he conveniently left out that he voted for these same tariffs four times. He rubber-stamped Trump's reckless trade agenda even after data showed it was costing working families $1,700 a year.
That's the Lawler playbook: vote with Trump, then spin it for the cameras. He doesn't fight for this district — he fights to protect his seat. The Hudson Valley deserves better.
As a County Legislator, I've worked to lower costs for my constituents and fight back against Donald Trump and Mike Lawler's Big Awful Agenda— and in Congress, I'll put seniors, veterans, and working families first. But first, we have to overcome Lawler's sizable war chest.
