| Jason, Out on the water, everyone plays by the same rules. It does not matter how much money you have or who you know. The weather is the weather. The season is the season. You put in the work, and you live with the results. That is the Alaskan way. Fair. Straightforward. Earned. That is how it should be in Washington, too. But right now, members of Congress get access to exclusive information that most folks never see. They know about policy changes, contracts, and economic shifts before the public does. And then they trade stocks based on that exclusive information. That is not an even playing field. It's no wonder that Americans say they have a record-low level of trust in Congress. Public service shouldn't be about getting ahead financially. It should be about showing up every day to serve and represent the people who elected you. That is why I support banning congressional stock trading. And it is why I am rejecting corporate PAC money. If you believe Congress should work for the people, not their pocketbooks, can I count on you to chip in $25 today to help take this fight to Washington? |
