| I was three years old when my family immigrated to the United States from Colombia, searching for a better life. My mom was a machine operator, and my dad was a hospital technician, both proud union workers. They taught me hard work, grit, determination, and a profound love for this country.
I carried that lesson with me throughout my entire career.
I worked multiple jobs in high school, put myself through college, earned two masters degrees, and dedicated my life to helping others get ahead. |
