| Friends— The first Emerge win of 2026 is already making an impact. Elizabeth Bennett-Parker has won her race for Virginia's 39th Senate District — and with it, she didn't just hold a seat. This one is especially personal for me — this is my home district, and now my governor, mayor, and state senator are all Emerge alums. I am proud that Emerge's work played a part in building a better community for my friends and neighbors. With this win, she helped maintain a 21–19 Democratic majority in the chamber - a margin will shape what's possible in Virginia this year. And here's what makes this win even more powerful: When she's sworn in, Bennett-Parker will become the sixth Emerge Virginia alum serving in the 40-member Senate. For the first time, more than half of the women in the Democratic caucus are Emerge alums. This is what building a pipeline looks like. Bennett-Parker is part of Emerge Virginia's Class of 2017 — a class that also produced Governor Abigail Spanberger. That same cohort is now helping lead at every level of government. We don't just train candidates for one race. We build leaders who shape the future for years to come. And it's working. From city councils to statehouses to governors' mansions, Emerge women are stepping up, running strong campaigns, and delivering results for their communities. But none of this happens without you. If you're ready to help power the next wave of women leaders, will you contribute to Emerge today? Every dollar you give helps recruit, train, and support women who are ready to run — and win. Because victories like this don't happen by chance. They happen because people like you invest in them. Let's keep going, - A'shanti Gholar |
