Jason, My grandfather nearly died from Polio as a child. He survived, but lived the rest of his life with damage to his legs that required him to walk in leg braces. Science kept him alive. Years later, science is what keeps my daughter Elle safe as she lives every day with type 1 diabetes – from the insulin she relies on to stay alive to the technology that monitors her blood sugar and the medical research that promises to improve her care.
In my own family, I have personally experienced what happens when science advances, and when disease goes unchecked. This is why I cannot stay silent as RFK Jr. weakens vaccines, politicizes public health, and cuts funding for lifesaving research. We cannot afford to go backwards when preventable diseases are resurging and when families are already facing too many challenges. I am running for Congress because we need to trust evidence, invest in research, and strengthen the institutions that keep our families safe. The health of the American people should never be a partisan issue. If you believe science should guide our public health decisions, not politics, will you chip in today to help us fight for that future?
For my grandfather. For Elle. For every family counting on science. Thanks for all you do to support this people-powered campaign, Stefany
