The GOP is desperate to land blows on Representative Mary Peltola.
After Mary announced that she would be absent from the House Floor to help her family freeze fish for the winter – an Alaska Native tradition that has been passed down for generations – national Republicans pounced.
An NRCC spokesperson even went as far as to say that Mary's family visit "stinks worse than fish in the office microwave," and her opponent claimed that she was "embarrassing" and "hurting our state."
Outsiders who mock our Alaska way of life don't deserve to represent our great state. Mary is a born and raised Alaskan who understands the values, culture, and traditions we rely on to support our families and put food on the table during the winter.
Those trying to shame Mary just don't understand Alaska's values, Jason, and that's exactly why they're going to lose in November!
