Jason,
Last night, New Hampshire delivered Donald Trump a victory that all but seals his path to the nomination.
Now is a great time to listen to what he's been telling voters on the trail. He's not running for president to make their lives better. He's running to protect himself.
That's why he's talking so much about presidential immunity these days, saying that all presidents should be able to commit any crime they want and get away with it — even crimes that he says "cross the line." It's no coincidence that this is coming from a man who's been charged with 91 felonies.
For Trump, winning the election is both his "Get Out of Jail Free" card and his license to break the law again. He says he wants payback over the people who dared to hold him accountable, he wants the illegal deportation of millions of people, and he wants to be a "dictator on Day One."
After last night, we can say with certainty that the Republican Party isn't going to save us from that authoritarian future. The question is whether the rest of the country steps up.
I'm on a mission to do what it takes to stop Trump, but I can't do this alone — will you make a donation to Operation Saving Democracy today and make sure we build a grassroots operation strong enough to win?
Our team is running data and laying out the strategy to identify and reach pro-democracy voters in the states that will decide this election. I believe that work can help determine the outcome this fall, if we fund it.
Thank you for doing what you can,
Amy
