Thanks to his Inflation Reduction Act, the cost of insulin has been capped for over 4 million American seniors with diabetes. For the first time, Medicare is able to negotiate with drug companies to lower prices for the most expensive prescriptions. Biden has changed the game, so much so that money-hungry Big Pharma and its lobbyists have filed several lawsuits against the Biden administration nationwide. We need to take action now and show that President Biden's changes have widespread support from the American people. Continuous intimidation from Big Pharma hasn't stopped Biden from continuing to fight for the people. Recently, he introduced a set of guidelines for prescription drug companies warning that if their price-gouging continues, the federal government can license the manufacturing to another company who will price it more cheaply and fairly. We, America's taxpayers, fund the research and innovation that leads to the creation of many life saving medications. Pharmaceutical corporations shouldn't be allowed to co-opt our tax money by forcing patients to pay exorbitant prices that far exceed the manufacturing costs for these drugs. Federal tax payers have helped to finance the drug industry for decades. We've got to stand up and fight back — now is the perfect time to do so. The Department of Commerce is holding an official comment period right now. We need to let them know that we support this stand being taken against Big Pharma. Begin writing now to send an official comment to the Department of Commerce now in support of "march-in rights" to lower prescription drug prices. Thank you for taking action.
