Jason - A few months ago, Kari Lake launched her campaign for United States Senate. Besides the day we launched, this is probably the most important time of the race so far. But hang on a minute. Put that aside for a second. Because right now, I want to talk to you about my decision to run in the first place. When I made the decision to run for Senate in Arizona, it was to take back this seat from Kyrsten Sinema. Replace her vote in the Senate with someone who actually cares about the people of our state. That was reason enough for me. But now, Kari Lake is running. The MAGA Queen. Someone who has no problem lying, spreading misinformation — even calling for her supporters to commit violence on behalf of Donald Trump. I lived through January 6th. I heard the shouts from the mob while I was on the House floor, barricading the doors and helping my colleagues evacuate to safety. I know what Kari Lake means for our democracy. This campaign is not just about getting another vote in the Senate. It's not just about our priorities. It still is those things, but it's about defending our democracy now, too. And that is a lot of pressure. Trust me… I'm feeling it. I expect you are, too. But you are not alone in this fight. I'm with you, and thousands of others are, too. Right now, a lot of them are making donations after Kari Lake jumped in the race. They're hoping that you will join them. Because they know that is how we will win this race. So please, I am asking you very humbly: Can you please split a contribution between Democratic Values and my campaign for Senate in Arizona? Lots and lots of people adding donations is the only way we'll hold the Senate. That's the only way we'll defend it from Kari Lake. If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation split between Ruben Gallego and Democratic Values will go through immediately: There's an old motto in the Marines: "First to Fight." That always stuck with me. And you have my word: I'm not going to back down. I am proud to be in this fight with you, Jason. Thank you for your continued support. Semper Fi, Ruben |
