DC has a higher population than Wyoming and Vermont Currently has no say in how they're governed as they don't have a voting representative in Congress And yet Congress can oversee DC and its budget! Giving DC statehood would not only restore civil rights to DC citizens, but also likely give us two more Democratic Senators!
