Jason, If you're feeling deja vu, you're not alone.
For the second year in a row, Gov. Mike Dunleavy vetoed critical education funding that Alaska students, teachers, and parents have been advocating for relentlessly. This Education Bill included a long overdue $1,000 increase to the BSA funding formula — a lifeline for our public schools after decades of flat funding. It passed the Alaska State House and State Senate with bipartisan support. However, Gov. Dunleavy's anti-education allies in the legislature have failed to override the governor's veto, once again prioritizing politics over Alaska's students. Gov. Dunleavy is holding education funding hostage to push for his administration to have more control over local schools and divert public dollars to private and charter schools! Our kids deserve better. We need public school champions who will fight to secure the resources our schools and students need to thrive. That's why we're building the largest grassroots campaign Alaska has ever seen to support Alaska Democrats who will take on these anti-education extremists. Can we count on you to chip in $5 or more today so we can elect pro-education leaders across Alaska?
For the love of Alaska, AK Dems
